I went to pick out rock for my fireplace, and came home with this stroller. Ryan is always shaking his head at how things just fall into my lap. Yeah right he says. No, really. I went to the rock yard and as soon as I get there, it starts pouring rain. Since you have to walk around outside to look at the different rock palettes, I decided to wait until it passed over so I didn’t have to come all the way back. I went into the nearest store, which is a consignment store, and right by the door was this stroller. I thought, man I’d love to have that but I’m sure it’s like $300. So I asked the guy and he said, “I think its $90….” and I thought hmmmmm, tempting! Then he looked at the price tag, which I didn’t see and said “oh wait! It’s actually $40!”
WHAT.
So obviously my hands were tied. How could I leave without it, it was practically free. I was so excited that I forgot to go back to the rock yard. When Saylor saw it she said “dank you momma!” and went to her room and got all her dolls. She was playing in the living room for hours with it, and I knew I had to get some pictures of her with it. I went and got this old delicate little dress that has been in my closet for 8 years, my great grandma Merrill gave it to me when Gracie was born, it was the dress she wore as a baby for her own pictures. Then I went outside, plopped it all down in the weeds in this empty lot beside ours and started shooting. I will be a little sad the day someone buys that lot! It has the most beautiful weeds! haha

Our dog Tucker, we love him, he’s the sweetest dog in the whole wide world.

And here’s one of her being silly. I can’t even describe her funny personality, she is hilarious.

And then while I was shooting I was trying to get her to do something and she didn’t get it, so I walked over to her to show her. Gracie was holding my camera and she took this one of us. I love it.

Wanna watch a video of Saylor doing everything I ask her? Okay.
My puppet.
Try to ignore the super creepy “goooooooooood” that I say in there. So weird that I did that.

What the…where did my last comment go? weird…okay so do you have facebook? Maybe you have to be logged into facebook to view it. This is why I never post videos, I don’t know what I’m doing here!
I can see it, I had to log in to facebook first. So cute! I just love the shot of you directing Saylor. Well I love the one of Saylor and your dog that is really sweet. Love your new blog too, it’s just perfect, not too much but just enough. Gorgeous!
I found it. Sara was at my house last night. I could have put a funny status in her facebook since she left it all available but I’ll leave that for Kennedy and Brittany’s accounts…haha
Skye, you are so sweet with your little Saylor… you two are just beautiful! I loved finally meeting you at our session (and my little guy LOVED meeting Tucker)! Thanks so much for sharing and for taking our photos! xoxo
I LOVE this story. Thanks for sharing it. What a perfect stroller and how sweet is it that your great Grandma wore this dress. And look at Gracie…a photographer in training! What a priceless moment she captured.
Yes I’m logged into facebook but it still won’t show
I have watched other video’s of yours on facebook that have linked from this blog before but for some reason this one won’t show. Do I need to be friends with you?
Lucky lucky girl! That stroller is uber cute! And, so is Saylor! I know what you mean about the vacant lot. I used the ones behind our house for pictures all the time…they just “paved paradise and put up a parking lot” in the form of an office building! For rude! I love the 10th(?) one down, the black and white one. Saylors lips are so pretty in it! She is so lucky, she is going to have a plethora of great pictures of herself!
Love this girl, love these pictures, love your blog, love your music and I love you and your adorable writing style! I have never laughed out loud as much as I do when I’m reading your blog. LOVE IT.
I can view the video without being friends with Skye on Facebook, if that helps!
So lucky and, even more, so adorable! That is awesome that your grammy gave you her dress. Those will always be some very special pics. They would make some awesome canvases…however I imagine that you likely have little room with all the great pics of the kids.
