A few weeks ago I was cleaning up my studio and I picked up this scale to put it back in my closet. I grabbed it by the bowl and went walking towards the closet, but the scale hit my leg and the whole thing went flying and hit the cement floor. It shattered. For the first time in a very long time I said an inappropriate swear word and since I could barely handle what had just happened, I walked out of the room. When I came back down the next day to clean it up, it was gone. I went into Ryan’s shop, which is right next to the studio in the basement, and I saw my scale. It had blue tape and glue dripping from it with a bunch of clamps holding it all together. Ryan was trying to save my scale. He is REALLY good at puzzles, and to him it was like a challenge to put it back together. In the end though, he said it probably wasn’t a good idea to put the weight of a baby back into the bowl. So the scale is dead for now. I’m so sad about it. Katie made it for me for Christmas and I have never used a prop as much as this one.
So let’s have a moment of silence. It will be back soon. It will just be different.
Here’s Lily, she was so sleepy, I could literally post 30 pictures of her. What a sweetheart. She had the nicest parents and I love all the people I get to meet doing this!

Oh no about your scale! That is terribly sad! I’m sure you’ll come up with something else. It’s very neat that Katie put that together for you, you guys are an amazing duo!
ACK!!! That scale was my favorite prop of yours!
Skye…I an avid reader and I can empathize with you SO much…I would’ve been a heap of a mess of tears on the floor. There are things in life that are just not replaceable.
I am trying to visualize all the shelving you need for your props.
Your are such an inspiration..and thanks for sharing all the ups and downs….
What a sweet baby girl. Beautiful pics, as always!
