Maddie

Sorry everyone who is patiently waiting to see their babies show up on the blog, my family came into town over the weekend and I have been extremely distracted. My brother Chance got engaged and he brought his sweetheart down so we could meet her. More on that tomorrow…..

Here’s adorable one year old Maddie. I did her newborn pictures and here she is, all grown up and on her way to toddlerhood. (sometimes I make up my own words, usually because it’s late and I don’t want to come up with a better way to word things) Miss Maddie wouldn’t give me ONE smile, she just stared me down the whole time with her gorgeous blue eyes, she was completely unimpressed by every effort I made. Thanks for bringing her all the way back up for pictures Jenna, even though she didn’t smile we still got some goodies! She is SO CUTE!

What kind of lighting do you use? I think the lighting in your photos looks perfect. You really have that down. Not to say that you don’t have the rest down, lol, but if I had my own studio, my first goal would be to do lighting as well as you do. I figured out how I found your blog. I know your sister-in-law Skye Carroll, and a mutual friend of ours told me about you originally.

Oh I totally forgot about those hearts during our session, dang it! Next time I’m making a list I bring with me, because I totally space everything when we get there. I love these pictures so much, she is a beautiful girl and you did so great as always Skye!

Hi Skye! Love these cute photos! Even when you say you don’t get a smile, you get such awesome photos. I, like many, have been stalking your blog for a while now. Your work is incredible. You are so inspirational to me. I am 24 years old and have just picked photography, and I read in your about me that you are 28 and have been doing this for 4 years – I pray that I am half as good as you in 4 years. I know you don’t have time to answer photography questions via e-mail – is there any chance we photography admirers can get a little FAQ thrown up someday – if you could share what kind of gear you use, your lighting choices, actions (if you want to disclose), time management tips, etc? I love all these baby photos so much. I wish I lived closer so I could bring my little girl for a session. Again, LOVE your work!

Thanks for all your comments! The ruffle leggings and flower are from Trendy Tots in Provo. Stephanie, I will probably do that in the future, but right now my time is quickly eaten up by my family and clients, and that’s who I have to take care of first! Right now it’s 3 am and I’m halfway done editing a session and still have client emails to answer. There’s just not enough hours in the day! I always feel behind with a huge to do list, so adding one more thing (even small) is just too much right now!
