Kensington, Broderick & Sinclair

The three little cuties from California were so adorable. Funny thing was the ones who we expected to cooperate didn’t, and the one we didn’t expect to cooperate….did. Two year old Brody just marched over to the suitcase, sat on it and started smiling away, laughing at everything we were doing. Kensie kept asking me questions and talking, which was so cute, I just got a lot of pictures of her mid sentence! :)   And little Claire, well she just wasn’t having it. She got ticked about something and stayed that way. Good thing she’s so cute because I got some great ones anyways! I’ve never met this family until now, but Megan is the owner of Kensie Claire Boutique and has been sending me adorable headbands and flowers for a few years to use in my studio. Check out her adorable stuff, her flowers are so soft and floppy, I love love love them! I was so glad to finally meet her in person and take pictures of her beautiful kids.

I really love this one of her stretching, she was so tiny but was still sporting some back rolls. So adorable.

Doesn’t get much cuter than that eh?

That’s right, I said it. I’ve been trying to muffle the EH that seems to automatically follow sentences, but I’m tired of it. I am Canadian dang it.

Addie & Jett

I’ve been photographing Addie since she was a baby, and this time she brought the cutest accessory EVER, her brand spankin’ new baby brother. Jett slept the entire time and was very easy, and so was Addie. Kara is the most easy going mom, I always love working with this family.

Her outfit is one of the many that I got from Denise. Except I think I stole the pants from Katie’s pile. Actually I know I did. She doesn’t.

And I just have to say THANK YOU to everyone who left comments, emailed and facebooked me about Stacia and baby Lucas. I really appreciate it and I know that Stacia does too.

Tristan, Gracie & sweet baby Lucas

I have thought about what to write about when I posted these pictures, but the truth is there are just no words to express what this sweet little family is going through right now. About six months ago Stacia emailed me and made an appointment for her baby boy that was due on Christmas Day. I have photographed Tristan and Gracie before and was excited to meet the newest member of their family.

A few days after Christmas I got an email from Stacia that made my heart sink, her sweet baby boy had been born still. She gave me a link to her blog and as I sat and read about baby Lucas, I couldn’t stop crying. I just can’t even imagine. Here’s a clip from Stacia’s blog….

“This has by far been the most heartbreaking, yet sacred and precious experience of my life. I am not typically one to share moments that are this close to me, and for the past couple of weeks I have not intended to, but I am so proud to be Lucas’ mommy and I want to give everyone the chance to see my beautiful baby boy.

Lucas Steven Mann was born still on December 15, 2009, due to unknown causes (SADS). I had the amazing opportunity to hold his perfect little body for 2 days after he was born. I miss him so bad that it physically hurts, but I know that I will always have those precious moments that I was able to spend with him, and he will always be in my heart.

We miss and love you, Lucas.”

She wanted to keep her appointment to get pictures of her older two, and here’s what she wrote in her email. It has stuck with me.

“I am completely heartbroken. But I have realized how fragile and precious every moment is with my kids, and that the memories and tiny details captured by pictures is priceless. I don’t want to forget their looks or personalities at any point in their life.”

Stacia, I hope these pictures bring you a little piece of joy at this trying time in your life. I hope you can feel everyone’s love and prayers, especially mine, my heart is breaking for you. I’m so sorry. Tristan and Gracie are more beautiful than words, you have some very special kids, I hope I was able to capture them the way you want to remember them. In this first picture they are holding these little lambs that remind them of their baby brother, he has one too. Thank you Stacia for letting me share your story, there are others going through this right now and you are a huge example to many.

These are some molds of Lucas’ hands. Gracie knew they were special and held them so delicately.

Kira, Presley & Bentley

I always love photographing twins! These ones were almost 5 weeks old, so I wasn’t sure what they were going to let me know. They cooperated together in the beginning but then they decided to take turns sleeping for the rest of the session. Big sister Kira was so funny, as soon as she sat down she instantly started pulling all these adorable poses, looks like she’s got this thing down.

Lindsay

Lindsay was a great sleeper with the most beautiful head of hair and the sweetest little chubby cheeks ever. What an adorable baby girl! I photographed her older sister as a newborn almost 3 years ago, I can’t believe it’s been so long. Andra you guys make some seriously adorable girls! Congrats!

Cutest cheeks right??

Queen of the house.

I’ve been having way too much fun playing dress up with the girls with all the clothes Denise gave me. Gracie picked her outfit today and then we had a serious talk about not ruining the clothes at school, and with the most serious face she said, “if any of the boys come close to me I will just put my hands out and say STOP, don’t touch my clothes.” haha she is the cutest, I love her. After I got Saylor dressed I went down to the studio to do a little cleaning and thought I could take a couple of pictures of her too in this FREAKING cute shirt and dress. But she found the little crown that my sister Brittany made and refused to take it off. So, crown it is! It suits her anyways.

Is that not the cutest little dress ever?? Please note the most crooked ponytails ever, whoops.

Kamryn

I’m still trying to recuperate from my awesomely fun trip, I’m only about halfway through my emails so if you haven’t heard back from me you will soon. I will not be able to answer the photography questions I’ve gotten in the last week, there are literally about 100 and there’s no way I’ll be getting to them, I am simply too busy right now. Sorry!

So here’s my sweet friends gorgeous one year old, Kamryn. She bonked her little eyebrow in my studio before we even took one picture, so she was pretty “emotional” for her session. Kim left thinking we got NOTHING and I told her not to worry, but I know she’s been stressing herself out! I had her bring Kamryn back in so we could get one big smile out of her, and we did. Look at this girls lips, they are the cutest things ever.

Spoiled.

I really don’t even know what to say. That was the most fun I’ve ever had on a trip. We didn’t know what to expect, but we certainly didn’t expect everything that happened! I’m still just trying to take it all in!! Denise (the owner of Matilda Jane) spoiled us like no other. She was there to pick us up from the airport and even though she rented us a car, she pretty much just took us with her everywhere she went all weekend. She is THE MOST generous (and creative!) person ever, Katie and I were so excited everytime she came to pick us up at the hotel. Everything was taken care of for us, the hotel, food, movies, room service, even spending money! It was freaking AMAZING. It was so fun to see all the behind the scenes stuff and meet everyone who works at and makes Matilda Jane run.

I have so so so much to do now that I’m back home and thrown back into reality. So here’s a few pictures. And can you even believe Katie’s tiny little tummy?? She is less than 5 weeks from having her sweet baby girl, I can’t wait!

DSC_2861-

We may, or may have not got to load up on clothes for our girls (and studios of course). I can’t really say….although just ask our hotel neighbors who probably thought someone was being murdered next door, with all the screaming that we just couldn’t hold in. Best day of my life.

We loved going to 435. That was the building that felt like a dream, with fabric and ribbon and CLOTHES on every shelf, I want to LIVE there. It has cuteness oozing out of it everywhere you look. This little doll scared the crap out of me everytime I walked around the corner.

Everywhere we drove in Fort Wayne was so cool. There are sooooo many old buildings and the houses had so much character. On the flight home Katie and I tried to figure out how we could move there, since there is a photographers dream around every corner. I am now in love with Fort Wayne, Indiana. Crazy.

And now for the best part of all…..I wasn’t sure if I had won any clothes from the spring line or not, but apparently I get the whole thing, and of course I am FREAKING OUT, because they are the cutest clothes Matilda Jane has ever ever EVER had!!!! I’m still completely in shock from the whole thing, but I am so excited and very very very GRATEFUL for Dave and Denise and everything they did for us. This has been the best and most fun experience of my whole life! I met the cutest girls and I will remember them all for a long time. (I’m talking about you guys, Sam, Kayla and Lynnette!)

And of course I’m still having a party for the new spring line, Hammond Bay (did I mention these are the cutest clothes EVER???) It will be held on February 17th, from 1-3 pm. So mark your calendars and save up some money, because you are going to want it all. They have the cutest ladies clothes too, I’m so excited to get some for myself!

Save-the-date

For more cuteness, go to the Matilda Jane Blog and see more. And leave Denise a little note if you can, she is going through a lot right now and I still can’t believe she pulled off that huge conference with everything she had going on, including babysitting us!! :)
